ATLANTA (July 1, 2026) – AmeriPro Health (AmeriPro), an industry leader in emergency services, patient logistics, and technology-driven healthcare services, announced today it has been awarded a five-year contract to provide emergency ambulance services in Magoffin County, Kentucky, following several months of successful interim 911 coverage for the county.
The Magoffin County Fiscal Court unanimously approved the agreement, which took effect in June and formalizes AmeriPro’s role as the county’s long-term emergency medical services provider. AmeriPro now provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance coverage for approximately 11,040 residents across Magoffin County’s 309-square-mile service area.
As part of the agreement, AmeriPro will maintain two fully staffed 24-hour ALS ambulances dedicated to Magoffin County, supported by a 12-person clinical team of EMTs and paramedics drawn from the local community.
“When AmeriPro first stepped into Magoffin County earlier this year, the priority was simple: stabilize the 911 system, ensure uninterrupted coverage, and earn the community’s trust through reliable service,” said Brian Bishop, Senior Director of Partner Integration at AmeriPro Health. “This long-term agreement reflects the progress that’s been made over the past several months and gives us the opportunity to keep building a sustainable EMS model in Magoffin County while helping strengthen emergency care access across Eastern Kentucky over time.”
AmeriPro began serving Magoffin County in February after Patriot Emergency Services ceased operations, requiring the county to secure immediate replacement coverage to maintain uninterrupted 911 response. Since then, AmeriPro has stabilized local EMS operations and provided dedicated emergency coverage while working closely with county leaders to support a smooth transition to long-term service.
“AmeriPro stepped in at a critical time for Magoffin County and has provided the stability and continuity our EMS system needed,” said Donald McFarland, Judge Executive of Magoffin County. “Since taking over service earlier this year, they have earned the confidence of county leadership and our community through reliable performance and a clear commitment to patient care. We’re pleased to formalize this long-term partnership and ensure our residents continue to have dependable access to emergency medical services.”
The agreement reflects broader challenges facing rural EMS systems across Eastern Kentucky and beyond, where communities continue navigating staffing shortages, financial strain, and limited healthcare infrastructure. AmeriPro’s long-term approach includes workforce development efforts designed to help train and retain EMTs and paramedics locally, supporting more sustainable emergency coverage in underserved regions.
With the addition of Magoffin County, AmeriPro continues expanding its footprint across Kentucky, where it provides primary 911 emergency medical services in Caldwell, Mercer, and Henry counties, as well as 911 overflow coverage and interfacility transport services in Louisville and interfacility transport operations in Lexington.
